Susan Lynn Newlin, age 67

October 27, 1952 – February 3, 2020

Susan Lynn Newlin, age 67, of Effingham, Illinois, and formerly of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 6:25 PM – Monday, February 3, 2020, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Susan's life will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Carroll Ross officiating.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Susan, memorials may be made to the Winterrowd Christian Church.

Susan was born on October 27, 1952, in North Muddy Township, Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Ezra Dean and Ruth H. (Hinkle) Newlin.

Susan graduated from Newton Community High School in 1971.  She worked for 30 years in the bindery department of World Color Press in Effingham.

Susan was a member of the Winterrowd Christian Church.  She enjoyed reading, baking, making jewelry and collecting antique dishes.

Sisters and Brothers – Phyllis (Neil) Rohlfing of Effingham, Illinois; Dianna (Mark) Keefer of Effingham, Illinois; Rachel Kreke of Effingham, Illinois; Wayne Newlin of Joliet, Illinois; Steven (Carol) Newlin of Oakland, Illinois; Bruce Newlin of Wheeler, Illinois; Lora (Mark) Cunnea of Cartersville, Georgia; and Clara (Greg) Koester of Effingham, Illinois

Brother-in-law – Rob Upton of Lerna, Illinois

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Susan was preceded in death by her mother and two sisters, Naomi Rohlfing and Beth Upton.
