Obituary

Sylvan Leroy Foster, age 91
Ingraham, IL passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Hospice House in Forest City, North Carolina.
Services will be held at 4:00 PM – Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home Newton, IL with Ronnie Hostettler officiating. Private burial will be in the Ingraham Cemetery with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion.

Sylvan was born on March 5, 1920 in Jasper County, IL the son of Everett Leroy and Etta Catherine (Pierce) Foster. He married Mary Jiles on August 30, 1947 and she preceded him in death on November 14, 1991.
Sylvan retired after many years as a plumber and pipe fitter.
Sylvan served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Bogota Baptist Church.
Sylvan is survived by:Children –Pauline (Howard) Shadle; Cathy (Don) Green Wesley (Patricia) Foster; Aggie (Ray) Kerley
Grandchildren – Marlee Shadle; Dan (Stephanie) Shadle; James (April) Frisby; Greg (Nichole) Foster; Eric (Brittany) McGraw and Sara (David) St. Clair
Great Grandchildren – Anna Shadle; Braden Shadle; Charlotte Foster; Malia Shadle; Elijiah Foster; Caleb Foster; Luke St. Clair; Lucas Frisby; Aubrey Barrett and Eli McGraw
Sisters – Lucille Hickox and Lela Strole

Sylvan was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Everett Leroy Foster; grandson John Foster; Great Grandson Michael Shadle; sister Nadene Diel; brothers Loren, Paul, Ray and Hartley Foster.
