Thomas William "Tom" Jackson, age 74

of Newton, Illinois passed away at 7:25 AM - Sunday, June 14, 2015 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 PM – Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with graveside services to follow in the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Illinois with Nate Hagen officiating. Thomas better known as "Tom" was born on March 3, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Donald and Lora (Camp) Jackson.
Tom was a truck driver for over 40 years and retired from Yellow Freight after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #710 and Winterrowd Masonic Lodge #664.
Tom enjoyed camping, hunting and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a former volunteer for the Jasper County EMA.

Kenneth (Beverly) Jackson of Athens, Tennessee
Richard (Stacey) Jackson of Louisville, Kentucky
Jeffery (Amber) Jackson of Seymour, Tennessee
Sister – Judith (Rusty) Swick of Decatur, Illinois
10 Grandchildren 7 Great Grandchildren

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and grandson D.J. Jackson.
