Vera Stroud , age 93

June 5, 1929 – December 3, 2022

Vera Stroud , age 93, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, passed away at 2:16 PM – Saturday, December 3, 2022, Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Vera was born on June 5, 1929, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Alfred and Kathe (Grieser) Kochman.  She married Gene Stanley Stroud and he preceded her in death February 19, 2007. A son, Girard Mark Stroud , also preceded her in death.

Vera was a student of Oberlin College, majoring in Political Science, and obtained a Master's Degree from the University of Champaign, Urbana. She was a County Board Supervisor for approximately 20 years in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. She was also instrumental in starting the state recycling program for the state of Wisconsin. She loved literature and horticulture, especially wildflower and historical gardening, and for many years, was active in the New Berlin Historical Society.

Vera is survived by her daughter, Allison, granddaughter Kayleigh, and three great grandchildren.
