Vickie Sue (Jayne) Drake, age 65

Vickie Sue (Jayne) Drake, age 65, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 11:57 PM - Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.   Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday, April 17, 2017, at the funeral home.  In loving memory of Vickie, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Martinsville, Illinois.

Vickie was born on October 10, 1951, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Jasper and Alberta (Osbourn) Jayne.  She married Leonard Drake on October 17, 1970, at the Latona Church of Christ in Latona, Illinois.

Vickie graduated from Newton Community High School in 1970.  She had worked as Certified Nurse's Assistant at Birchwood Nursing Home in Casey.  She had also worked at Casey Tool, IGA and The Print Shop.

Vickie was a member of the First Christian Church in Martinsville, Illinois.  She enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping and spending time with her family.

Husband of 46 years – Leonard Drake of Greenup, Illinois
Children – Jennifer Cook (Significant other – Ronald Craig) of Casey, Illinois and Brad Drake (Ashley Shunn) of Greenup, Illinois
Grandsons – David Cook of Casey, Illinois and Brandin Drake of Greenup, Illinois
Sisters – Betty (Al) Fasnacht of St. Elmo, Illinois, Jeanette Fear of Johnston City, Illinois and Barb Smith of Martinsville, Illinois

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Tom, Jerry and Bob Jayne and a sister Nancy Littlejohn.
