Vila Leone (Wade) Michels, 102, of Olney, passed away at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Helia Healthcare.

Visitation will be from 12-2 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. Pastor Steve Wingert will be officiating.

Leone was born on January 30, 1920 in Noble Township, the daughter of Harry and Margaret (Varner) Wade. She married Herschel Maurice Michels on November 12, 1938.

She worked at Kex when she was younger and also cleaned houses. She was skilled at doing alterations and sewing. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved square dancing and spending time with her big family. She attended Congregational Christian Church now known as Bible Fellowship Church for many years.

Leone is survived by her son Dennis Michels (Linda) of Olney; 3 daughters Shelby Runyon of Olney, Barbara Ahlfield of Columbus, Georgia, Arlene Morgan (Johnny) of Olney; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 41 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Joyce Ilene Lynch, granddaughter Kimberly Morgan, 2 sons-in-law Don Runyon and John Ahlfield, grandson David Evermon and great-great-grandson Austin Zuber
