Mr. Vincent Francis "Jack" Kistner, age 85
Of Newton, IL passed away at 8:15 AM – Thursday, October 13, 2011 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Father Al Kemme celebrating Mass. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM - Monday, October 17, 2011 at the church. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL..
Jack was born on April 29, 1926 in rural Newton, IL the son of George and Catherine (Volk) Kistner. He married Charlene Rose Zuber on October 12, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, IL and she preceded him in death on October 25, 2009.
Jack was a lifelong farmer and road commissioner of Fox Township in Jasper County for 20 years. He was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree member of the Newton Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his 4 sons Ed (wife Janet) Kistner of Effingham, IL; Allen (wife Carla) Kistner of Gila, IL; Ron (wife Sharon) Kistner of Neoga, IL and Rick (special friend, Jackie Menke) Kistner of Newton, IL.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 brothers Kenneth and Melvin Kistner; 3 sisters Gertrude King, Maude Wagner and Mildred Ochs.
