Violet Marie Newlin, age 87

July 13, 1935 – October 29, 2022

Violet Marie Newlin, age 87, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:15 AM – Saturday, October 29, 2022, at her home.

Violet was born on July 13, 1935, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Pearl and Lois (Foltz) Utley.  She was raised by Bernard and Bernadine Foltz.  She married Carl Newlin on September 14, 1991, and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2014.

Violet was a seamstress and worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and her cats.

Violet is survived by:

Children – Tony (Bonita) French of Olney, Illinois; Kitty (Kevin) Lewis of Newton, Illinois; and Angie (Tom) Butler of Newton, Illinois

Sisters – Shirley Carr and Jane (Mike) Ochs both of Newton, Illinois

9 Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gregory Dean French, and two brothers Bud Foltz and Keith Foltz.
