Virginia Lee (Gaddy) Mathis, age 90, went to be with the Lord at 10:55pm on Monday September 5, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday September 9th, 2016 at the Cornerstone Community Church in Noble, IL. Visitation will be from 10 to 11am. Burial will be at Noble Prairie Cemetery. Pastor Doyle Williams will be officiating. Thrasher Family Funeral Home is assisting in arrangements.

Virginia was born June 19, 1926, in Noble, the daughter of John D and Olae Mae (Jones) Gaddy.

Virginia was a lifelong resident of Noble. She married the love of her life, Carroll Maurice (Dub) Mathis in 1946. He proceeded her in death in November of 2004. She was a devoted housewife supporting Dub in his work in the oil field and raising three daughters. She was a member of the Noble Christian Church.

Virginia is survived by her 3 daughters, Carolyn (Richard) Clark of Noble, Linda Fulkerson of Noble, and Barbara (Merrill) Corley of Sherman, IL. Two grandsons Jason Jackson of Noble and Kevin Jackson of Noble.

Virginia was proceeded in death by her husband Dub, parents John and Olae Mae Gaddy, four brothers and four sisters.

Memorials can be sent to Hospice of Southeastern IL in memory of Virginia Mathis.
