Virginia Rose Spencer "Starky", age 90

Of Newton, IL passed away at 5:55 AM –Monday, February 18, 2013 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.
Funeral services celebrating Virginia's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Louis Youngs officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 AM until service time. In loving memory of Virginia, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund; Chapter FN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Scholarship Fund or First Presbyterian Church.

Virginia Rose was born on December 8, 1922 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of Wilmer and Edith (Kittle) Stark. She married her high school sweet heart Thomas Moore Spencer on March 25, 1942 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2012.
Virginia was a 1940 graduate of Newton Community High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newton; Chapter FN of P.E.O. Sisterhood; Ladies Auxiliary of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary of the Newton VFW.
Virginia was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge.
Virginia is survived by:
Children – Mark (wife Jennifer) Spencer of Mesquite, TX
Marsha (husband Phil) Gearing of Dallas, TX
6 Grandsons 1 Granddaughter
4 Great Grandsons 7 Great Granddaughters

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband.
