Virginia Rosetta Wheat, age 89
Of Newton, IL passed away at 7:40 AM – Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, TX.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM – Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in the New St. Peter Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to mass time at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.blakefh.com.
Virginia was born on July 17, 1923 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Frichtl) Michl. She married Roy Wheat on February 17, 1947 in Newton, IL and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2007.
Virginia and Roy owned and operated a trucking company for many years together.
Virginia was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. She and Roy enjoyed square dancing, traveling and spending the winter months in Texas.
Virginia is survived by:
Daughter – Darlene Tedrick of Dayton, TX
Grandchildren – Dana Johnson; Jason (Stacey) Tedrick, Justin (Adrianna) Tedrick and Jeremy Tedrick
12 Great Grandchildren
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Jerry Tedrick; sisters Vanetta "Peggy" Clagg and Norma Michl and a brother Earl Michl.
