Walter LaVeral "Lucky" Hanley, age 71
of Jewett, IL passed away at 4:00 PM - Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL with Bro. Randy Black officiating. Burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery in Jewett, IL with full military rites by the Cumberland County Veterans Association.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the funeral home.

Walter was born on October 23, 1942 in Cumberland County Illinois the son of Walter Delmar and Wealthy (Oakley) Hanley. He married Loretta Peters on October 19, 1975 and she survives.
Walter served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Crisis and also during Vietnam.
He retired after many years as a truck driver. He was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Toledo, IL. He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and his pets.

5 Brothers – Max (Virginia) Hanley of Greenup, IL
Dean (Sue) Hanley of Hillsboro, MO
David Hanley of Toledo, IL
Leon (Cindy) Hanley of Toledo, IL
Joe (Kim) Hanley of Paris, IL
Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren also survive
Walter was preceded in death by his father, sister Frona White and 2 infant brothers.
