Wanda Ladene Mitchell, age 90 of Olney, went  home to be with her Lord at 3:45 AM, on Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 from Burgin Manor in Olney.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 16th, at 2:30 PM, at the Chapel of Hope in Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Friends may call at 1:30 pm for a time of visitation prior to the service. The Reverend Ben Wollard will be the officiating minister, and burial will in Crest Haven Memorial Park.

Wanda was born on May 14th, 1922 in Champaign, Illinois, the daughter of Basil and Lula (Groff) Hanes. She later married Emerson Wendell Mitchell on October 2nd, 1940 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death

Wanda was a member of Christ Church in Olney, she was a member of the Birthday Club, and loved to watch people, crochet, read, garden, paint, sew and quilt, and lend a helping hand. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

She is survived by Emerson Mitchell Jr., and his wife Jackie of Claremont, daughters Violet Gibbs, and her husband Walter of Claremont, Linda Myers, and her husband Connell of Olney, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Lula Hanes, husband Emerson Wendell Mitchell, son James Mitchell, 2 grandsons Eric Myers and Richard Mitchell and 1 great-great-granddaughter Tasha Chaplin.
