Wayne Eugene "Hap" Howe, age 76
of Newton, Illinois passed away at 8:57 PM - Friday, July 3, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM – Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Hap, memorials may be made to the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7537 Harvey A. Pulliam Post 106 North Van Buren Street Newton, Illinois 62448.
Wayne better known as "Hap" was born on August 16, 1938 in Wabash County, Illinois the son of William Vern and Verla Catherine (Liddle) Howe.
Hap had worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation and later was the club manager of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. In most recent years he was a bartender at the Newton VFW Post 7537.
Hap served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. He was a member of the VFW Post 7537 Harvey A. Pulliam Post of Newton and the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. He enjoyed doing string art.

Hap was preceded in death by his parents, special friend and companion Brenda Sue Schoonover, brother Kenneth Edward Howe, brother-in-law Clifton Merrick and special friend Bill McReynolds.
