William Curtis "Bill" Read, age 67

Of Newton, IL passed away at 6:21 PM – Monday, April 29, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Newton, IL Burial will be the Trexler Cemetery in rural Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday, May 3, 2013 at the church. In loving memory of William, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.

William Curtis better known as Bill was born on October 20, 1945 in Olney, IL the son of Henry Blain and Golda Ellen (Harmon) Read. He married Arnedia Fern Osborn on May 30, 1989 in Wheatland, IN.
Bill retired from Roadmaster after 32 years of services as a dispatcher.
Bill was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Newton. He had served as a trustee, usher and drove the bus for Wonderful Wednesday at church.
Bill loved and served his Lord and was always sharing God's word to others.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, furniture making and was able to fix anything. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

4 Children – Jimmy Gates of Olney, IL
Billy Read of Olney, IL
Kim (Al) Cross of Effingham, IL
Tony (Dana) Peacher of Mattoon, IL
14 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren
Mother-in-Law – Ilene Corso of Newton, IL
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Heather Joy Peacher Brown, 2 brothers Robert and Gerald Read and a sister Betty Wright and 2 grandsons Dustin and Mike Lance.
