Mr. Winfred Elza "Windy" Dressback, age 90, of Robinson Illinois, formerly of Newton, and Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 6:14 AM – Sunday, May 05, 2019.
Masonic services will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) – Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Funeral services celebrating his life will follow, with Joe Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Winfred Elza better known as "Windy" was born on February 16, 1929, in Oblong, Illinois, the son of Samuel and Katheryn Fay (Harris) Dressback. He married Betty (Lowe) Catt on June 7, 1997, in Bogota, Illinois, and she survives.
Windy graduated from Oblong High School in 1946. He worked as a mechanic, service manager and later as a salesman for Webster Ford in Newton for over 50 years.
Windy had many loves and hobbies, these included fishing, stock cars and tinkering on things around house or in the garage. He used these skills as a mechanic for many years. Windy played the bass guitar for over 60 years; this was a love that he passed down to his son. He was able to share his love of hunting raccoons and quail with his grandsons as well. In his younger years he was involved with many local organizations, this included being a volunteer firefighter with the Wade Fire Department. In his later years Windy enjoyed visiting with the morning and afternoon group at McDonalds and working puzzles.
Windy was a member of the Bible Chapel Church in Robinson, Illinois, and was a 52 year member of the Newton Masonic Lodge #216 in Newton, Illinois.

Daughter-in-law - Debbie Waterbery of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Step-children - Carolyn (husband Greg) Utterback; Debbie (husband Roger) Pethtel and Sandy Martin all of Robinson, Illinois
Grandchildren - Chad (wife Bekah Byson) Groves, Cory (wife Stephanie) Groves, Kyle (wife Venita) Dressback, Kevin (wife Cindy) Poland, Jeff Utterback, Ryan Pethtel, Andrew (wife Autumn) Pethtel, Tori Thurmen,
Justin (wife Tiffany) Attaway and Tara Attaway
Great Grandchildren - Micah, River, Iris, Gracie, Gavin, Tabitha, Colton, Owen, Loretta, Alexandra, Leyton, Dayton, Patience, Harper and Braxton

Windy was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry Dressback, brother Ken Dressback, sisters Polly Lowe and Esther Meyers, great-granddaughter Mindy Poland and a grandson Jason Utterback.
