Wonita Vernice Ring, 89, of Olney, passed away at her residence on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 12:45 pm. Visitation will be held at Thrasher Family Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will directly follow with Minister Charlie McDonald officiating. Burial will take place at Noble Cemetery.

On January 14, 1934, Wonita was born in Noble, IL, the daughter of David Anderson and Carol Haines. She later married Harry Ring in Noble, IL on June 17, 1956. Wonita worked as a bookkeeper for The Village of Noble Treasurer's Office. She attended United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elks and American Legion. Wonita was also a board member for the local Embarrass River Basin Agency (ERBA). She really enjoyed playing card games like bridge and pinochle in her free time.

Wonita is survived by daughters: Kim (Kevin) Dewey of Rochelle, IL, and Sara Lynn (Bruce) Rushing of Washington, IL; sister Bernice Hegedus of Olney; sister-in-law Doris Ring of Valparaiso, IN; nephew Edward Hegedus of Olney, as well as several other nieces and nephews; two grandchildren: Tiffany (Brandon) Winchester of Auburn, IL and Chase Rushing of Washington, IL, and one great-grandson Easton Winchester of Auburn, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and both of her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Senior Citizens of Olney.
